it happened before but i don't know how it appeared again

when i delete emails from my gmail account (POP3 only is used) the message title remains in the BB inbox with a star icon next to it, and the home screen counter still counts it as unread.

any advice how to solve this?

open your messages and go up to the top of your messages. hit options > mark prior opened.

or try a battery pull

Battery pull works on 9800. All other suggestions failed.
