I bought a second hand bold from ebay, and when I tried to sign up for a local blackberry plan, the customer service officer scanned my phone and a message box said something like my pin or imei no. was suspended or already registered.
Is there any way to get around this and get my local plan up?
I tried using my friend's sim card on my blackberry and his blackberry services work on my phone. So is it a problem with my phone?
If the issue is that the PIN is still registered on another account, you'll need to somehow get it canceled. Best case is you can contact the previous owner and have him/her do it. Calling the carrier and pleading your case may work, but likely not.
If the issue is the device has been reported stolen there is likely nothing you will be able to do. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile

How did you resolve the issue with your PIN/IMEI #? It was sounding like the device was reported stolen. Or was it just a case of the PIN still being registered on previous account?
I did not resolve my issue. I left it at that. My plan was to switch to a blackberry plan initially, but because of the PIN/IMEI issue I did not. So now my blackberry's just a regular phone.
