Wow...nobody is loading this OS? I guess the novelty of the latest and greatest has worn off for everyone.
I won't be loading it since the Slingplayer for BB still has the same issues as .743

I've been on the fence about the WillyBoy hybrid for the 9700 but in the end decided to stick with .743. I'm downloading .862 right now and will be installing it shortly using Desktop Manager 6 which I just got around to installing.

I haven't done an OS upgrade with DM in years. Loader.exe is still the best way to go.
I have read that VVM works in this version.

I'm not actually using Desktop Manager to install the OS, just for the backup/restore. I have used AppLoader.exe but lately I've been using BB Master Control Program which just makes everything easier. OS is installing now, I should be up and running shortly.

Nice way to speak to a moderator who had the decency to let people know about a new version of the handheld OS.
How stunningly rude.

Not just a moderator, but a member of the BlackBerry community that has contributed A LOT to it.

just loaded it up. Sync with my Mac works, which was the sticking point with all the releases after .602 official from ATT.
One small issue with it not recognizing existing music on the media card. Deleted all the files and re synced, worked fine
Initial impression is that it is MUCH faster responding so far, but only about an hour or so of use. I'll report back this evening after I put it through its paces.

Downloaded and installed yesterday...
Freed up about 15MB of memory, and seems to be much faster boot time, and loading of pictures in media viewer.
Apps loaded and running --
BBSSH
BeWeather
BN eReader
Facebook (actually seems a bit faster)
Google Maps
Google Voice
Photobucket Mobile
Player for YouTube
Score Mobile
Sirius|XM
Trillian
Twitter
WordPress
Also, running fine with
BBM 5.0.1.32
AppWorld 2.0.0.26

I downloaded and shrank the OS (just 35.3 MB in 346 files, nice!) but haven't loaded it up yet, since I've been tinkering with various hybrids. Waiting to see what else I can drop in there before I load it.
I've read reports of very respectable battery performance, but that's second-hand info.

Visual Voice Mail Working!
Just wanted to confirm that VVM for AT&T works on this release (seemed to have been broken after 5.0.0.680 release).
Also nice to see further reduction in memory needed by this version of OS. Core and System Apps are 12 MB smaller. Always happy to get additional memory back!

Battery life is also VERY much improved over .743
This build seems very good so far.

JC,
this OS is a champion of all leaked and official...
using it for 2 days..
great radio file IMO, better than .743, in .743 sometimes get sos and cannot return to network unless you do BP.
mostly get 3G..
snapier, all my apps works very well..
but battery life seems like 743, little bit draining
.656 is the best OS for battery life IMO

Um, and I posted why I wasn't loading it. Is there some law somewhere that says I have to install it?
