Unhappy Unexplainable battery drain

Please Login to Remove!

For the second time in a week, the battery in my Storm died overnight, after I had switched it off with the "power off" button in the Home menu. It had been previously charged to 100% capacity. The battery is about a month old.
Could the business card that I put under it (to improve responsiveness of the touch screen) have anything to do with this issue (less than optimal contact) ??
Hope to receive some replies.
Thanks in advance.

Try it without the card for a couple days and see what happens. It could be causing a bad contact.

And are you sure that the device actually turned off?

Absolutely. I hit the "power off" button. In the morning, the phone was as dead as anything. Had to recharge the battery before the phone could bootstrap..
I'll try without the paper under the battery.
Thanks.

I found that the battery on my S2 drains real fast if the service is down. Check to see if the tower in your area is defective. A way to check is to turn off the radio and see if the battery drains quicker than expected.

Good point. Fact is, I assume that when you turn it off, the radio connection is off, isn't it ?
In any case, I put the old battery back in and upgraded to OS 5.0.0 and in one day the battery charge level went from 100% to 80%. Not bad, considering I made calls, browsed, etc..
