Default "K" to lock phone, gone?

Please Login to Remove!

I did the .586 update for tmobile and now the "k" shortcut to lock the phone is gone. If i hit the lock button it will lock the screen but not the phone and will NOT prompt me for a password.

I made sure the password is active and this is very important to me.

any ideas?

I noticed the same thing when I went to 656. Kinda a bummer I enjoyed just locking my keyboard not putting my phone in standby mode.

1) Check the time limit set on your device for locking the keyboard under Options>Password. Lets say you have it as 1 min.
2) Lock the keyboard using the'lock' button
3) Try to unlock after 1 min (or whatever time you have set under options>password)
4) It asks for the password
5) If the device is tried to unlock before the time set, it unlocks without asking for a password.

So, the password becomes functional ONLY at the timeout set by you.

i know all this, ive been useing a blackberry since they were black and white with nextel.

anyway. the point it the "k" key doesnt lock, and the lock button on the top locks the keyboard, not the screen, so now my side button is my phone lock.

also its much slower to recover from this mode. were before i could hit any button, enter my password and it was unlocked.

i am hating this

Try to press "A". To release, press "lock" button.

K is not gone.
make sure you have a password on the device and you need to have dial from home screen off as well.
if you dont have both of those things K will not lock.
