I hate to ask such a simple question but have been unable to come up with any resolution to this.....

My old CDMA 8703e Blackberry (on the Telus network) will not turn off. Auto on/off and the Alarm feature are both disabled. A battery pull does not fix this.

If I turn my Blackberry off (using either the button on the top or the on screen icon) I will see the usual message (about hitting a key to abort the shutdown) and will then see the start up Telus 'splash' screen. Some time afterwards (after hanging for about a minute) the Blackberry will reboot and will (after that) function as normal. Does anyone have any ideas

Thanks: after doing a reset (and restore from backup) the problem seems to have gone away - at least for the moment.

Good, keep in mind something was corrupted so try to watch where it happens if it does , look for something you added or changed just before.

Also I found that if i put my BB in the holder after doing the soft powerdown it hits a key and restarts or aborts the shutdown. I just discovered this.
