Default Record a phone call

Please Login to Remove!

I know there are apps out there like SpoofApp and Bluff My Call that can apprently record phone calls, along with Google Voice (for incoming calls only), but I'm looking for an app that does just recording. No need to take up the little memory space I have for features like voice changing and spoofing my number that I won't be using.

Anyone know of an app that does just call recording?

Please stay on topic. I am aware of the legal issues this may have, but there is no need to hi-jack the thread or changing the subject. So again, please stay on topic.

Thanks for the help,
-Rich

I did this search several months ago, and what I found is that the BB does not have the ability to record a phone call due to a block put up by RIM in the circuitry or something like that. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but this was pulled from several different threads from several different BB forums.

I think you are right. But there must be an app that works like the listed apps in my first post. Something that uploads the recording to an outside server for downloading, this way it can be saved anywhere, including the blackberry.

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

There is nothing like this. Search the forums before you post. I know I've personally answered this at least 4 times in 2010

Wirelessly posted (well lookie here!)

No available app that does this as you stated there are ways to do it! You can also get a physical device that will allow for recording!
Be sure of any applicable state laws when recording a convo

It is possible. If it wasn't, then SpoofApp and Bluff My Call wouldn't be able to record. So that is proof that the BlackBerry has the ability to record phone calls, even if it uploads it to an outside server.

Sorry but this annoys me. I clearly said NOT to get off topic, and that I am aware of the legal issues. Do you not know how to read, or did you want to be a jackass? Haha kidding man, but seriously, I made that very specific in my first post. :P

This is a public forum and you cannot tell people what they can or can't post.

I looked at the websites for SpoofApp and Bluff My Call and neither one explain how the call recording is done and what phones it works on. Maybe it's possible that the call recording feature doesn't work on BlackBerry. Why don't you contact both companies and ask.

You have used both those apps on a BlackBerry?

It looks to me like both services work by routing your call through their system, and their system does the recording. Not the blackberry.

I'm not sure I'd like my calls to be routed through some random hole-in-the-wall company's phone network to be recorded and stored...

Like I said earlier, there's no way to record a convo on the BB...only the way above which doesn't really count since the call has to be forwarded to a third party so they can do it. There's an epically-long thread about this topic over on that *other* forum, and numerous posts claim RIM has come right out to say they made it so we can't use an app to record a call because of all the legal stuff...which I think is ridiculous, if true of course.

The only solution, apart from the one above which I feel is a bit shady/risky, is to get a non-RIM phone that has a recording app available for it, or has one built in(some do have this feature built-in, one of my old Kyocera's had it). You could also buy one of those nice digital voice recorders from radio shack and record the convo with your BB on speakerphone. I've done this several times with a mic and windows sound recorder, works like a charm.

I'm definitely sure I would NOT like that.

Actually, a misconception of many: most state's laws state that at least one party (read: not both) in the conversation must be aware that it's being recorded. So he'd be fine.

If I'm correct, if you're in a call with an out-of-state party then Federal law kicks in whether or not the states have the 1 or 2 party law. Furthermore, I believe the Federal law is 1 party. Someone feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

Your question has been answered several times in this thread, as well as 2.8 million other times if you search this forum and other forums. Not really sure why the thread going off topic now would be an issue.

Every Motorola iden phone (the last 5 or so) I had recorded calls, the party that is not the initiator would hear a beep every 5-10 seconds. My BB 8350i apparently does not.

Default LivePVR?

Has anyone tried the LivePVR application?

Curious to know if this would work on a Blackberry Curve.
Thank you.
