Default Bluetooth, 9500 and OSX does it work?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all.

I have installed the RIM software on my mac and can indeed sync with the cable. It says for the first sync you need the cable implying after you can use bluetooth.

So I can set up the device by adding it as an item in bluetooth preferences, it says on the mac pairing completed successfully. But then immediately goes to 'not connected'

Mean while on the phone it says 'waiting for imac' until such time as I cancel out.

I have been going round in this circle for a while now and have basically concluded bluetooth rim and mac is a no go?

I have a 9000 & tried the DM by RIM on my MacBook Pro & the main issue I had was with syncing the contacts, they would disappear but when I tried to send I would have to start typing the name or number to select. I didn't like that & couldn't except it.
I went back to using Missing Sync by Mark/Space. When set up with Proximity Sync it will sync Beautifully.
Not a bad price either.
My wife has the 9700 & uses the DM on a PC with Win7. I like all the options they have but I refuse to switch back to a PC.
Now if RIM could make it behave and do all that he PC version can do with out issues then I would try it again.

In essence I have given up on bluetooth an purchased a sync cradle to tidy things up.

This sort of works except every other sync it tells me the services for calendar have changed and would I like to merge data.

Is anyone at blackberry actively developing the OSX version because its like a shiny turd basically?

I have Parallel 5/XP PRO SP3 on my iMac and installed the WIN version to avoid some of the issues. That is my suggestion.

Such a shame though innit that Blackberry make a half arsed attempt at OSX software?

Like my Blackberry I guess, half arsed.
