Default Opera Browser Sucks On The 9700

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded the Opera Mini browser on my new 9700 and the browser sucks. I can't even navigate the window with the usual 2468 buttons. Every Opera command is mixed up. Anyone else here have this problem, and what can we do about it? Opera works fine on my 8900 and even my 9000, but on the 9700 it sucks.

I've used both on mine, and it worked perfectly

I am having the same problems. In my 8900 I had no problems. Best solution is to uninstall! :(

On Opera 5 beta, do you guys notice a mismatch in the trackpad sensitivity? I've noticed that on a page, the trackpad moves quite slowly - much less responsive than moving around on the BB itself, and in the menus it moves around way more quickly - much more than around the rest of the BB.

This is irrespective to whatever settings I use for the trackpad sensitivity.

P.S. the 2-4-6-8 navigation works for me on Opera 5 beta.

I haven't noticed any difference and I'm pretty picky about things like that.

Hmm.. it's very noticeable for me. I have to swipe multiple times just to get the cursor to move a couple of centimeters on the screen. And my trackpad works fine everywhere else outside Opera.

Maybe I should try reinstalling it...

Yes, the cursor moves much slower in Opera than the rest of the BB.

Do you think it is having trouble with the high res screen? I had Opera 5 beta on my 8320 and didn't notice any lag in cursor movement.

I pulled the battery after installing Beta 5 and it helped somewhat as far as movement of the cursor. But still not as fast.

Anyone know how to delete a bookmark that is saved to one of the 9 tabs? I want to delete BBC news that was a default bookmark at install. I couldn't figure it out.

Thank you.

Highlight the tab and then press and hold the trackpad. You'll get an option to edit/delete. I had to google to find that.

I've used the 5.0 beta and now the release version and both work great on the 9700.

I am looking for an alternative browser to the BB browser provided. My needs are not great but my biggest complaint about the BB browser is that there is no way to remember login information and entering it each time is painful on my Verizon Storm 2.

Does the Opera Mini remeber logon information. Also would appreciate anyone's comments about any browser that does have this feature.

Thanks for the response. Do you happen to know where the password data is stored on the BB or on a Opera browser and is it encrypted.
