Default Slightly worried about the emergency call feature(keyguard).

Please Login to Remove!

When in keyguard mode the emergency call feature worries me a bit. I carry my Blackberry loose in my pocket, which in turn means it's possible to hit the trackwheel causing the emergency call feature to be activated while in keyguard mode.

My question is:

What number does the emergency call feature dial, and must each user set an emergency call number or is there a preset number?

Thank you in advance, as any help is appreciated.

I thought I read somewhere that there was a table that it dialed from based on the country. 911 doesn't do much good in the UK where the number (I think) is 112

I don't suppose there is a way to disable it?

I'd hate to accidentally call an emergency response number.

Wirelessly posted (7290: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7290/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

!

Do not be worried.

It will prompt you 3 times before dialing.

It will display "Are you sure you want to dial an Emergency ***...."

"Are you sure you wish to proceed"

I think on some BB's its even more secure.

I wonder if this can be changed with BES or VIA the IT policy tho.

(Meaning how many times it prompts you)
