Phrases like that always seem to be a bad sign in discussion forums... That and the ever popular "For $XXX, it ought to...". Those statements always seem to indicate ignorance or some sort of arbitrary expectation that could be cleared up easily with a bit of research.
No amount of positive thinking will put a subsidy lock (only applicable to GSM devices) on your 8330. You might want to read up a bit more on GSM, CDMA, etc. This Wikipedia article on SIM locks may be of some benefit:

Let's back up though and try a more useful approach: What exactly are you trying to do with your 8330 that makes you think you need to unlock it? Are you referring to some other type of lock? Keep in mind that on wireless device forums the word "lock" by itself is used to mean the subsidy lock.
