Default Can't sync to Outlook

I just upgraded from a Pearl which I could always since with my Outlook 2007.

Since upgrading to the Tour I have been unable to sync to Outlook (contacts or calendar).

Two things are happening that are odd:

1) When trying to setup the synchronization properties at the last step after clicking "Finish" DM hangs and has to be killed. It does appear that the settings are getting saved though, because I can view them after the fact.

2) When trying to sync the progress dialog comes up and immediately closes (no syncing occurs). Almost like a silent fail. What gets me is it doesn't appear to be doing any of the checking the contents of the device, or those of Outlook. It just dies.

I tried this with both DM 5.0.1 and DM 4.7 (same exact results for both of them).

Any thoughts on WTF might be going on?

I tried to view the synchronization log through DM, but that button is still disabled after attempting to sync.

I did find a file called PtTrace.txt in the <user>/Roaming/.../Intellisync directory. It had the following data in it:

May want to run a repair on the Outlook installation.

Which PIM Applications have you tried to sync, so we can narrow this down to one individual PIM application (ie. Calendar/Tasks/Memo/Contacts)

I am having the same/similar problem. Everything worked fine on my Windows Vista/Outlook 2007/BB5.0.1 with my Sprint 8830. I bought a new PC with Win7 Pro, installed BB5.0.1. I also changed my Outlook PST file from an ANSI to Unicode. Now can't synchronize. The "Synchronization Progress" dialogue box pops up momentarily and then closes. I have tried earlier version of BBManager to no avail. I have run SCANPST and repaired any problem it found. I have tried to sync only "MemoPad". I have tried a one way sync. Any ideas? Considering a hard reset on BB8830.

You're not alone. I upgraded an existing Vista system to Win7 and have had no problems with any of the software or systems EXCEPT Blackberry. On my Bold 9000, I get the exact same "flash" of Sync and then it closes with no error. I've tried every tip I've found online to no avail. I still have data on both systems that have sync'ed in the past and I've tried each data item individually one way, both ways (calendar, address book, Memopad) to no avail.

I completely wiped Blackberry Desktop out (article KB02206 on "offical" Blackberry site) and virtually every other related article that I could find. (KB01451, KB11827 etc.) Nothing works.

Having same issue here with blackberry bold 9700... win xp home install, tried reinstalling desktop manager, went through all the tips i could find online and no luck...

Tried sync each database individually (address book, memopad, etc) and the window just pops up and dies with no error reported. PtTrace.log has:

Has anyone had any success in finding a solution? I'd just like to find a way to backup contacts and memopad at the very least... maybe there's an app that I could install that could do this over the air? Any help would be greatly appreciated
