Default BES 5.0.1 MDS issue with HTTPS

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I recently built BES 5.0.1 with a clean database on Windows Server 2008 x64 SP2. The install went very smoothly and everything [else!] appears to work fine. Moving users with the transporter tool is so easy!

The one issue I have is browsing HTTPS from the blackberry browser. MDS is configured with our ISA proxy and the default "catch-all" address expression. It works fine for HTTP.

As far as I can tell, MDS appears to be having issues authenticating with ISA when requesting an HTTPS page. MDS is configured with a username/password. Setting ISA to allow unauthenticated traffic through gets it working but is obviously not ideal.

The error on my device is: HTTP Error 400: Bad Request
Clicking "details" reveals: Only basic authenticated HTTPS proxy server is supported

I have searched over a couple of days and come across many references to this error - none with any solutions that have helped.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Oh Thank The Lord! I've been struggling with exactly the same problem for the last 3 days. Real sorry that I don't have an answer but at least I now know it ain't just me.

I should have re-read that first post. I would check the ISA logs when the request is made and see why it is being rejected. If that doesn't shed any light then run a packet capture between the the BES and the ISA server and check the packet traffic.
