Default Blackberry Manager and Windows 7 - XP Mode

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Been trying to get Blackberry Manager running on MS Virtual PC - XP Mode so I can run it "virtually locally" on my Windows 7 machine. Anyone done this successfully? I have been able to configure a couple other Win7-incompatible apps successfully...just not BB Manager. It's having an issue connecting to the database.

Running BES 4.1.6 MR7 on Domino 8.5

Thoughts?
Thanks!

I've gotten it to work on my system. I had to change the user that XP Mode logs in as to be the same as my domain user ID/password to get the DB connection to work.

I'm running BES 4.1.6 MR5 with Groupwise 7.0.2.

Desktop Manager works very nicely on all versions of Windows 7. Make sure you are running the latest version.

Haven't tried it yet, but try disabling IPv6. Came across thi sin installing BES 5 on Server 2008, so worth a go.Read Microsoft arcticle on diabling IPv6 though, it's not just a tickbox in network properties

OK here's my error...

I have tried this both ways - XP Mode using XPMUser\localcomputer, and also my domain credentials. It acts like it's going to fire up, but sits there till it finally times out & throws this error:

"System Problem - please review log for additional information. Database Connection pool failed to initialize".

BB Manager launches without issue within the VM itself - whether I am logged on as a domain user or locally. It's gonna make me nuts till I get it to work. Ideas?

Can you browse SMB shares on the database computer from the VM? Are you doing NAT from the VM or giving it a separate IP address on the network?

If there were shares...yes. I can get there via start---run UNC path - (I am prompted for my domain credentials if logged on locally to the VM)

Doing NAT from the VM

Try bridging the VM to the network so it has it's own IP. That's how mine is setup.
