Yes it was, but I am still having the problem.

They just made me "Wipe the Hadheld"

That was about 30 minutes ago and it is still working.

Honestly I think VZW wasn't ready to launch EVDO yet on the Blackberrys yet.

Mine has issues at home and then works fine all day when I go to a client 12 miles away...it will probably take some time for them to work out the bugs.

A lot of us having similar problem with the 7250s/

I agree. VZW will get it right but we have to suffer some of the growing pains.

As an FYI and update, wiping my handheld did the trick. It has been several days and I have not seen the DCR error since I did the wipe.

If you are having the problem, I suggest you try it.

Arrow Phone or PDA?

I can't decide whether to keep the 87000c or the 7130e since price wise and coverage-wise the service-wise they are similar. The Verizon phones can get service in the DC Metro which would help my commute but one cannot switch phones from a berry to something else. Sucks.
I've had both. Right now Cingular has fewer network issues with EDGE than Verizon has with EVDO. I have used the 8700 for about a month now and had few problems.

I have had the 7130 for a week and have had tons of issues with "packet loss error" and DCR. If the network coverage isn't an issue then I'd say the 8700 is a much better PDA than phone and the 7130 is a much better phone than PDA. I attribute this to form factor- the 7100's were always better phones than the 72XX, now being replaced by the 8700x's.
