I can't decide whether to keep the 87000c or the 7130e since price wise and coverage-wise the service-wise they are similar. The Verizon phones can get service in the DC Metro which would help my commute but one cannot switch phones from a berry to something else. Sucks.

I've had both. Right now Cingular has fewer network issues with EDGE than Verizon has with EVDO. I have used the 8700 for about a month now and had few problems.
I have had the 7130 for a week and have had tons of issues with "packet loss error" and DCR. If the network coverage isn't an issue then I'd say the 8700 is a much better PDA than phone and the 7130 is a much better phone than PDA. I attribute this to form factor- the 7100's were always better phones than the 72XX, now being replaced by the 8700x's.
