Default Display older messages (in this case AOL)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all

I have a client with a Curve 8320, with T-Mobile service. She has an AOL email account linked to her BB. I recently updated her to the latest system software using Desktop Manager for Mac. After the update, I ran Setup Wizard which detected and set up her AOL email account again - however, after setup, Messages only displays around 15 of her emails, rather than the 100 or so which were present on the device before.

Is there a way to "retrieve more" or "display older" messages on the Blackberry? She's tried the P key, but it only shows the email that the BB has already downloaded (it doesn't go out to the AOL server and "get more").

Of course, she can send certain emails to herself to have them show up on the BB, but I'd like to give her a way to simply retrieve her emails in bulk.

Many thanks for your help.

BlackBerrys only deliver new mail. Old stuff is not recognized by RIM's email servers (that find and push new mail to your device) as something to be delivered.

There is a way to *sometimes* fool RIM's servers into thinking old emails are new, but that's only for IMAP accounts and won't work for AOL.

Gotcha, thanks.

Now, the upgrade seems to have created a backup before it did its thing. Would that backup include messages? And does it also include photos (since Desktop for Mac doesn't yet sync images)

Thx again

DM does not backup pictures. They should be on your media card anyway and easily transferred to your pc. Or you could just reuse the same media card.

A back should include any messages on the device at the time of backup.

Very useful info - thanks again. Actually she's not using a media card right now - that's going to be a strong recommendation when I next see her.
