I figured out a solution for my problem, I got rid of most of my third party software such as themes from crackberry. Apps like google I kept, re-installed bbm and am NOW running it error free

Also, concerning the status, you'll only see a status for a contact if the person is busy or unreachable. If there is no status for a contact, it means they're available. An indicator will only show up if they're busy or unreachable or on the phone (I believe, even though that option isn't available to select anymore).
|
I don't like it though, simply because i liked the "away" feature. also have you noticed, you can't set an alert for a contact if they return from being away or busy or unavailable? small features that i miss!

Went back to AppWorld and downloaded/installed successfully but now ALL of my contacts are gone!
What the hell RIM, what the hell.
Anyone know how to scrape BBM PINs out of an old backup file?
|
open Desktop Manager and go to Backup/Restore. Go to Advanced options, and pick your last backup as the dbase you want your computer to access. Look for the Blackberry Messenger entry in the left hand box, and click the arrow to move to the right, then click next. Voila, BBM contacts restored.

Mine started doing the same thing it was doing in beta (one of the reasons I went back to 4.7) I have a conversation going and get a new message and I go to open the convo and it won't let me. Only fix I have found is if I have two convos going I close one and it will let me open the other.

i had the same problem initially. apparently, once you set your contact picture for the first time, not everyone who has bbm 5.0 can see it. so i changed it to something else, and then went back to the original picture that i wanted to keep, and that's how you can see the contact picture. it's silly.

Yeah I'm having that problem too. It did it this morning while texting my daughter. I too ended the chat and started a new one. Annoying.

Is there a way to download this 5.0.33 on the desktop manager?
I don't have internet. But I do have BBM. Weird, I know.

I wish I could still swipe my finger to the left to end conversations like on the beta version. And I wish they would bring back the old way of sending pictures. I hate that you have to save. ALSO, I wish I had more characters to write in the status box. It says field full after one line!

I'm having problem viewing the pictures too, it just give me white screen/blank, and sometimes when I accept pictures from friend the progress stay on 0%
Never had this kind of problem on the beta version. I even lost the BBM contact when I upgrade to the official version, while my contact is not lost during upgrade to BBM 5 beta.
I don't know what is happening, I even upgraded my OS to .303, the problem still there.

Yup, I have that same problem too, but I notice that only happened if I activate the "Auto-Text" features.
Another problem is that once you create your group, and start inviting others, you cannot rename the Group name.
And why can't we change the group icon to some custome Icon we created? because I also need the icon to identify which group I'm chatting with.
Hopefully RIM hear us, and come out with a fix - FAST.

I am having that problem. Not only that when I use Application Loader it automatically prompts me to either remover or to download. No option to keep it. When I have the time I am gonna see if I find a solution. I also just recently installed the newest OS from T-Mobile.

If app loader wants to remove or downgrade that's because you have an older version in the BB OS loaded on your pc. If you remove the older version's modules from the OS folder you won't have that issue anymore and apploader will treat it as a wirelessly installed app.
