Default 8330 wont connect?

Please Login to Remove!

My 8330 wont connect to my pc when plugged in. When I do connect it the little connected icon appears on the phones screen for about 3 seconds and then goes away.

I haven't changed any settings on the phone to keep it from doing that and I've tried going through everything on the phone to try and get it to connect but I haven't had any luck.

I want to update my OS, no, I need to update my OS but it wont connect!

Help me out guys.

You can check if there is any crude in the cable ends and the phone connector. You may have to see if the connector is broken inside.

Try plugging into a different USB port, make sure you're not using a hub.

Why do you feel the need to upgrade the OS? If it isn't really broken, there is no need to fix it.

If you hold the cord into the port on the device, does it stay connected? Kinda sounds like the USB port may have gone bad. How long have you had it - is it still under warranty?

You could also try using a different cord in case the cord itself has flaked out.

I'm not using a hub and I have tried different USB ports with the same result.

My phone could be a lil snappier and I just feel it's outdated.

It doesn't stay connected and I tried a fresh cord out of the package along with some other ones that I had.

Yeah, just tried a new cord out of the package and it didn't help.
It connects but only momentarily.

Probably not that outdated really. As for snappier, what do you mean - is it running slow?

Do you have a lot of apps installed? If so, remember they could be part of the problem and might not work under a new OS.

You might also have apps running in the background using memory and services. Try to "exit" out rather just back out or close. Try a battery pull to see if that helps.

I tend to agree with juwaack68 that it might be a bad USB port. Does it charge properly?

I'm gonna go to a different OS regardless of what you guys tell me so the their is no need to tell me not to do it anymore than you guys already have.

No offense to you guys though, it's just something I want to do.

I tried all 3 usb ports on my laptop and it still only momentarily connects.

It used to connect just fine so I wonder if some update that I downloaded might have screwed with the usb ports not allowing me to stay connected.

My phone charges just fine.
