Default using wifi without AT&T data plan

Please Login to Remove!
i had my AT&T bold 9000 unlocked, however i cannot connect to any wifi
i called AT&T customer service, the guy says i need a data plan
however i am using a different carrier now!

Wirelessly posted (bold 9000)

You don't need a data plan for wifi. Something probably got messed up when it was unlocked.
