Can anyone tell me if there is a way to use my pearl 8100 with my virgin mobile canada sim card..... I have the phone unlocked and waiting to upload new software, dependant on which provider i need to put it with...

software (OS's) are provider independant.
you can load any providers OS.

The OS has nothing to do with it working with a certain carrier.
The BB needs to be unlocked. Done.
You should be able to pop it in, and it should work.

From what I see on Virgin Mobile Canada's website, they sell the Pearl 8130. To the best of my knowledge this is a CDMA phone, were the 8100 is GSM (like Rogers and Fido).

I do not believe the 8100 will work with Virgin Mobile Canada.
If others have more info, I will gladly bow to their wisdom.

From the Virgin Canada website:

Sorry, but you can only use CDMA-based Virgin Mobile Canada phones on the network. Your GSM phone and SIM card are not compatible with CDMA technology.

So, xsbucks, you cant use the 8100 or the SIM card that you have.
(I didnt eve know CDMA carriers gave out sim cards....)
