I have a BPS system and my users have noticed that when they open a message on their blackberry and the sender has requested a read receipt, it automatically sends it.
They do not want to send the read receipt.

I've found a lot of information about this, mostly people complaining about it.
I found some information about setting a "supressreadreceipts" dword value in the registry on the BES/BPS server, one page said set it to "1" the other said "2" which makes me wonder if it's even valid information.

Can anyone dispel the myth?

I guess I would've found that if I'd googled suppressreadreceipts instead of supressreadreceipts
