Default 8310 Charger Port

Please Login to Remove!

My 8310 charger port is not working properly, i.e., will not charge unless the charger is in a specific spot. I've had this BB for nearly 2 years, and this is the 1st problem I've encountered. I have no expertise in repairing small electrical devices, so, I'm looking for repair center recommentations. Thanks for your assistacne.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Look at the charger port how many pins do you see?

Is three pins good, bad, or indifferent? The charge port thing is annoying, and using the car charger is practically useless. Thanks for your assistance.

You could get one of the cradle chargers, but obviously that won't help you in the car...

When installing a new charger port on an 8310, is soldering required? Hopefully, the new charger port is a snap in part.
Thank you for your assistance.

It is not a snap - in port, it has very small pins that need to be soldered on. I believe I have seen posts about people having them repaired at local shops for around $50. You might check your local yellow pages to see if there is a shop nearby that repairs blackberries.

The charging cradle should work in a car, it has a mini-USB plug-in, just like the BB. Have you had / heard of experience otherwise?

The only problem I could see is that the phone wouldn't stay in the cradle as you veer around town. But then again, maybe other people don't drive with as much "passion" as I do
