Here are some figues which has confused me:
When I add or update applications the total occupied application space shows less than 60 MB. (I have uninstalled the regular things like Help, Brickbreaker, VAD etc).
Desktop Manager > Help > Device Properties
Free Application Space: 157 MB
Total Application Space: 252.5 MB
Now back on the device itself, when I do Alt + Right Shift + H...
File Free shows as 164692612 bytes ~ 157 MB (This tallies with at both places)
File Total shows as 206700544 bytes ~ 197 MB (This is 55.5 MB less than the figure should in DM)
Basically my point is that there is a gap around 55MB which I am guessing is being occupied by some of the .cod files which are not a part of any application but they just sit and occupy some space.
I guess we have to do something similar to the memory optimization done by John Clark.
I am thinking that the immediate reaction of lot of folks reading this thread will be "why to worry when there is enough"...
