I have the same problem. This has been an issue througout the entire Windows 7 beta and includes the RTM. I think this is a RIM issue and has nothing to do with Windows 7.

It is a Windows 7 issue. Try this.
1) Click the Vista (Start) Button
2) In the Search Programs and Files box, type "Device Manager"
3) Click the Device Manager button under Control Panel
4) Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controller Tab
5) Right Click and Go to Properties on EACH of the USB Root Hub
6) Go to the Power Management Tab and deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
Try syncing after you do this.

Don't think that will work. My BDM doesn't show Outlook being installed.

It's worth a shot though. Windows 7 has this little quirk of turning off USB ports to conserve power. So if it thinks a port is "idling", it will shut it off, causing anything connected to it to error out. That's why it's a pain to update your OS through BDM or do other tasks with USB. The fix I described tells the USB port to stay on so it doesn't get turned off while syncing.

That's not our issue. The calendar won't sync becuse BDM doesn't see MS Outlook as being installed, only Outlook Express and will only sync contacts.
Everything else works fine in Windows 7.

The OP's post seems to indicate he does have Outlook. But does Windows 7 even have an email client in the OS? From what I read, it's set up to use Windows Live Mail, which is web based. Do you have Outlook installed? I would check your sync settings.

No one should expect compatibility with an OS that hasn't even been released yet. Vista still has compatibility issues with BDM, so Windows 7 may take some time to straighten out. Isn't there a warning about using a beta OS as your work/mission-critical OS?

Windows 7 has been RTM'd, and I have a copy of the final version, and it does not see MS Outlook as being installed. Tried with MSO 2007 Pro, Enterprise and MSO 2010 Technical Preview. BDM 4.6, 4.7 and 5.0 only recognizes Outlook Express and Yahoo as possible syncs. Outlook Express will only sync contacts and Yahoo will do both.
Also will not sync with iTunes for my iPod Touch. Such a shame.

Windows 7 64 bit
running 64 bit version and it syncs fine for me. Only quirk is DM needs to be started before I connect the BB.
Could one of your calendar entries be causing the problem? When i 'converted' from a WM device to BB a couple of years ago I spent hours trying to resolve a sync issue only to find out it was a single calendar entry causing the sync to fail.

I've done countless fresh installs, and when I run the sync setup, it won't detect my MS Outlook.

Been running windows 7 for a few months now with Office 2007, no problems for me. the only time I had issues with it crashing on calendar sync was due to the facebook app. Check your service books and make sure that there aren't any Ical entries in there that you aren't using, delete them and resend service books.

Wasn't working with BDM 4.6, 4.7 or 5.0 for me. It's not a service book issue either. It's just my BDM not seeing MS Outlook as being installed.

I am using BB Desktop Manager 5.0.0.11, Windows 7, Build 7100, Outlook 2007 with Sprint Tour. I am able to sync calendar, address book and tasks with no issues.
I know how frustrating your issue can be. I was testing Outlook 2010 Tech Privew and it would not sync so I reloaded 2007.

Finally got it to work. Had to re-install Office 2007. Not really sure what the issue was.
