I am using BES 4.1 for Exchange and it has been working for years. However, yesterday I had to change my main domain administrator password and ever since then I am unable to open BES. Im getting the DAtabase login has failed using trusted credentials, Please try again. Then I get a database login screen. I have tried using the new credentials but can't get it to open. What am I missing here??
What user are the BlackBerry services running as? (I'll assume they're running as the user you changed the PW for)
They should be running as the BES service account. Typically called besadmin or something like that.
If you changed the password for the user who the services are running as, then you need to go into each of those services and adjust the password there as well.
They are all running as BesAdmin which they always were, and I did not change the password on that account. However, when I looked at the permissions of the BESadmin account, what should be listed?
Well my BESadmin account is set up perfectly, as I thought it would be, the only thing that was change was my main domain admin password, why would I get these errors?
I went in there and was going to reset my database and now when I type in my SQL server name and database name, it says "test database connection returned an unknown error"
Its on a remote SQL server, but now I just realized that I haven't restarted the SQL server since I reset my domain admin password, Im wondering if that would cause this issue, i am restarting now.
Well that error doesn't come up, but now it is just sitting there almost looking locked up trying to re-configure the database. Hopefully it is just reading through it.
