Default Intermittently not able to send message!!

Please Login to Remove!

Last week, I have a few users who reported an intermittent problem that they couldn't send any email from the Blackberry. Whenever they tried to send a message, they would get a red X. However, that problem would then go away. We worked with RIM and verified all settings that we could think of on the BES server, and we found nothing unusual. RIM is scratching their heads too. What do you think?

When they get the red X, what does it show next to status when they open the message?

Have you checked the BlackBerry Router Service when the users are experiencing this? What does it show in the logs?

Yup we did. We checked router service and logs, and they were all fine.

Nope, no changes were made on the user mailboxes. I'm 100% certain.

Try Regenerate encryption key from handheld

Options > Security Options > General Settings > Highlight Desktop[xxxxSRPxx] > Choose Regenerate Encryption Key

_________NEVERMIND___________

Check mailbox/send limits in mail org.

My apologies- already discussed by jsconyers
____
Did you check to see if the affected users can send mail through their Desktop Client/Outlook?

I the "desktop unable to send" message before and it turned out that the user had reached their mailbox limit and could not send mail

Just spoke with a 4th RIM engineer, and we did another test. We logged on as the besadm account and opened the mailbox. We then tried to do a send on behalf of the user who's experiencing the red x problem, and when we clicked send, we got the error message that says "you dont have permission to send on behalf of the user"

However, we checked many many times in Active Directory that the permission is fine. In addition, this problem is sporadic. I bet you after a few hrs, it will work again.

Are the users members of a protected account? If so, and I remember correctly, you'll have to set the Send As on the SDAdminHolder, as well.
