Default memory

Please Login to Remove!

My memory keeps going down everyday, i upgraded to the latest OS, I deleted maps, voice dialing and any other program i do not use, I save my messages for only one week and my calender entries for 15 days..last night I had 6.3 million bytes, now I have 5.5 and I have only gotten a few emails from then...last week I had about 9 million bytes and I have made NO significant changes to my blackberry! and I clean out my cache and browsing history constantly!

I do not understand where all my memory is going so fast! What takes up the most memory? Can I use my media card as storage too? Please help!

What applications are running on the device? Sounds like one of them has a memory leak.

1) Make sure youre not running apps you're not using.
2) Delete any apps that you dont plan to use.
3) Try an OS upgrade (if applicable) - this REALLY helps

The media card can not store Applications, just ringtones, music, photos and videos.

John Clark has also posted a thread on how to optimize your memory.

But also be aware that the device uses memory as it functions. This is normal.

Definitely move all media to your sd card and change where it stores all future media. Only thing on your device memory should be applications and the os.

maybe you can try memoryup to clean memory.MemoryUp, is specially designed to solve this critical issue. By taking control of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) of your mobile system, it frees system resources and reclaims unused RAM for better use. Mobile RAM optimization enhances cell phone's performance by making more memory available for both applications and the mobile system. As testified by thousands of users worldwide, MemoryUp can effectively tackle memory shortage problems, and substantially improve system stability and application performance
