Hmm...
I can understand someone not having a love for technology, or a passion to do this on your own time. But by that same idea, this device will make you incredibly more efficient. I think categorizing this as work time is more then sufficient for solve your problem. Even if you are a slower learner, you could learn everything you talked about doing in a matter of a couple of hours. ( and that might even be a push )
