just as an experiment i downgraded to the lowest os i could find 4.2.288 on my tmobile 8320. and bb maps appears and sorta works never finds anything but its there and opens. when i upgrade to anything 4.5 (atm i am running 4.5.0.81 as a experimental "t-mobile" os) bb maps totally disappears its still in the apps list but no where to be found anywhere else.

huh?



facebook app never connects to the facebook server same with myspace blah blah blah.

i'm starting to hate my curve. ya i said it.

wondering if i can take my # to verison and get a storm

Why don't you upgrade to one of the OS version on here for your model Curve. I'm sure you will be very pleased if you do. All the instructions that you need are provided and we're here to help if you misstep. So try the OS that we have here and then come back and sing the joys of your BlackBerry.

Sometimes the carrier is very slow to bring out the better more upto date OS so that's why we here on the BlackBerry forums help each other out with newer versions and instructions on how to do it.

oh i have been running the newest since it came out i was bored this weekend and wanted to see if i could possiably get bb maps, and facebook to work but alas no luck i'll prolly go back to 4.5.0.174 later tonight.....

yep both. gogle maps says internet connection is needed (yes i have data plan) and i am using the newer facebook app

Upgrade back to 4.5. After the upgrade re-send your service books.

Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS make sure everything is enabled the way it is suppose to.

Make sure you put in the APN settings too, after an OS upgrade my setting is always gone.

Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS, is device GPS turned on?

Also make sure your TCP settings are filled in and correct. It's been a stumbling block for me in the past.
