I just came to have the same problem. Device Manager can see the device, but Desktop Manager doesn't see it. I can't synch because of this.

Windows XP SP.3
Desktop Manager 4.7
BB OS 4.6.1.231

What does the device manager recognize the device as? Go into options, connection options and make sure USB is chosen with the blackberry plugged into the usb cable.

The USB is chosen in Device Manager and shows the PIN. Desktop Manager shows "Device Connected" as None

I had this problem and found its usaully one of 2 things. 1> there is a damage pin in the minin usb por, or 2. (both are most likley) t-mobile phones are not compaitiable with the newest version of the blackbery deaktop. you have to call there tech suypprt and find the version they have authorized. the version is like 2 or 3 versions back. i promise this should fix your issue
