I just ordered a US spec Nokia 6822 w/ BB connect. Has anyone used this set-up? I have not yet received the phone, but will report back when I do.

Yeah, I do. Works great with BB. The phone is small and keypad is good. Only thing that's disappointing is the small screen and the limited memory, but I guess that's because it's a tiny phone.

Nice. Are you using BES or BWC? Do the mail features work just as they would on a RIM device (hardware diferences aside)?

thanks!

Only using on BWC and pretty much it works the same as the blackberry device. You get a message tone when you recieve e-mail. The only thing I think is different that I haven't fully tested yet, is that when you delete from Web Client on your computer the messages, it does not do it on the handheld. You have to delete messages on the handheld by itself.

Funny thing! I was going to ask the same question but backwards. When you delete a msg in the handheld it doesn't delete it on the BWC. Thats a big oversight. Is this the way its supposed to work on all BlackBerry Connect devices?

I know that in the SK65, it works just like a regular BlackBerry.

I wonder if its something a firmware upgrade can handle.

I got my phone today. I am using a BES. I was able to configure the phone via the Blackberry Config app that came with the phone, but I still cannot send or receive email. i get the feeling that the phone is not communicating with the internet via the proper channel. Which configuration/setting did you folks use when setting your phone up (I'm on Cingular, if it helps).

thanks in advance,
elbastardocalvo

Did you ever end up getting the 6822 with BB Connect configured, set-up, and operating correctly with BES? If so, what has been your experience thus far?

If it's not on there already, you need to flash it with the BB-capable firmware. I have no idea of that firmware is available outside of Nokia. The phone I had came with the BB client pre-installed.
