Just Updated, Couple of Questions
Please Login to Remove!
Just updated my BB Curve 8320 from 4.2 to 4.5, had a couple of questions... couple of things I really don't like and may go back to 4.2 if I can't change.
Please note, after upgrade I have already done a battery pull.
Text Messaging/SMS Messages:
1. When I get a new message its bolded, can I change it to NOT to that?
2. When I open SMS/MMS or Email, all I can see is EDGE but not my signal strength... anyway to change that so I can actually see what my signal is?
3. Next to date of message I have a block, what is that block for and can I get rid of it??
Status:
1.Before I could see my free file as well as my total file, my total file has gone missing... is that normal?
2. I still only have 16 free in my memory, why so low?? How do I go in and delete things I don't want, like brickbreaker, password keeper etc. to free space?
Address Book:
1. All of my contacts have a wider line listing, whereas before it was just names right under each other now its more like:
BEFORE:
Jane Doe
Joe Doe
AFTER:
Jane Doe
John Doe
Anyway to fix it so there isn't that space?
General Questions:
1. Can I keep any of the new upgrades and go back to 4.2? Like can I keep Docs to Go, and video recording, AIM etc but go back to 4.2?
2. How do I go in and delete stuff I don't want, like preloaded ringtones and themes so I can free up some memory?
Thanks so much!

Many of the things you mentioned are "features" of the new OS and cannot be changed.
As far as deleting software you don't want, you need to do this in Application Loader on your PC.
You cannot downgrade and keep new features.

Well the major things that bug me are new messages are bolded, the weird block next to the date on text messages, and the lack of the signal bars when texting or emailing-how am I supposed to know if I have the signal to send it?
Any other help would be appreciated, this is also version .180 from TMobile, is there a newer update that maybe fixes these "problems"?

If you don't have signal, you will see an X, not EDGE, GPRS, UMA, edge, gprs, or uma.
These "problems" are not fixed in later versions.

New messages are bolded so you can tell them apart from read messages.
I've no idea what the "weird block next to the date on text messages" is.
And you don't see the signal strength when composing a message (email or text). once you click send, it then shows in your messages folder at which point you can see the signal. If it doesn't have signal to send it will wit till there is.

Also big issue is the brower, how do I get it to the way it was before, without all my book marks showing?

Little vague there.. Do you mean when you first open it?
If so change the home page.

If it says edge, gprs, GSM or X you can't email.
If it says X you can't SMS.
The actual signal strength isn't that important.

I think that the OP is complaining that the bars don't appear in the compose screen while the message is being written.

Yes that is what I meant, I just wanted to see the bars like you see in version 4.2, nothing too terrible... just annoying, maybe version 4.6 will fix this...

Yeah, because there won't be a 4.6 release for the 83xx series.

5.0 is rumored to be the next OS for the 83xx series.

Changing the separator to "None" doesn't fix the problem. There is still a large space between the names no matter which option is selected.

There's nothing you can do about the extra spacing. That's for the Company field. You can put a nickname of a friend there instead, so it doesn't look as bad. Whatever you put in the company field of the contact will also show up on caller ID.
