I just downloaded the .122 OS and I went to back up my storm before putting the new OS on it, and I got an error message during the back up process that said something along the lines of "data not found on device" and when it completed, there was NO back up with the current date in my back up folder.

Anyone else experienced this? I don't want to do a wipe/clean install of .122 unless I know I can back up my data...I've backed up this device once before (when I made the move to .103) and had no issues with the restore.

Remove your BB from the USB, first.

Then, reboot both the BB (powered on battery pull) and the PC, and try it again...

Did both of these...still no go. The error I'm getting is "communication error" the data was not recognized by the device.

And the back up does NOT take place... :(

*Update - finally got this to work...read the screen during update to see where it was getting hung up - was on the browser cache...went to the advanced tap and cleared it out, ran back up again...worked just fine. Weird, but I'm glad it worked. Now off to update to .122!

Try clearing your cache and memory. I think I asked the same question on here. Someone gave me that tip and it worked
