Hmmm....let's think about that for a nanosecond.

So...if it wasn't rushed out the door, how come one can't even get to speakerphone mode if answering the phone in landscape mode?

If it wasn't rushed out the door, how come the handset/speakerphone icon shows the opposite of the current status?

If it wasn't rushed out the door, how come we have to close THREE app screens to close the media player?

If it wasn't rushed out the door, how come the phone reboots often and has memory leaks?

If it wasn't rushed out the door, how come there is no quick way to determine what apps are open?

I simply don't buy his lame excuses for a half baked OS. ANd the heck of it is, the HARDWARE is AWESOME, in my personal opinion. What a waste to have that phone stuck with that OS.

Who the heck does that guy think he is kidding? I get irritated with bigshots thinking their customers are idiots. Then again, a bunch of us DID buy the Storm...

Huh? I am sure there's something here I must be missing. So how about expounding on what I think is the obvious answer?

Although I agree with you 100%, the speakerphone status button is not meant to show the current status, but the option of what you can change it to. You should know if you are currently on speakerphone or not.

IF the volume gets inadvertently turned way down, it is not always apparent that you are in speaker phone mode. That happened a day or two after I got the phone and precipitated a call to tech support which gave me erroneous info about Voice Dialing. I told the gal that my phone wasn't going into speaker phone mode when I hit the left button. She said none of them do and that's just the way they made the phone. Turns out she was wrong. What was happening was it was in speaker phone mode for Voice Dialing, but somehow the volume got turned down to a whisper. Being unfamiliar with the phone, I figured it was an option setting, which is why i called tech support for assistance. Tech support scored an "F" on that call.

Getting back to speaker phone mode without talking about voice dialing, my big issue is twofold: the silly OS doesnt provide for the phone to REMAIN in speaker phone mode for the next call. That's lame. Secondly, if you answer the phone when it happens to be in landscape mode, you can't quickly get it into speaker phone mode due to the wrong (blue) screen appearing. Also very lame, to be blunt. Programming 101 should have covered that. I'm not shelling out my money for a phone that can't get the basics right.
