Default One handed use???

Please Login to Remove!

I have been using Blackberries for several years now. I have read many of the comparisons of the Blackberry Operating System Vs. Windoze Mobile, etc. In the end, I have found that my ability to use any/all features of the Blackberry with only one hand is THE biggest benefit of the Blackberry OS.

So my question is, can you effectively use the Storm with a single hand, as you can with other Blackberry devices????

I found it to be kind of difficult at first. Before the OS leaks started to come out, you did not have the option to have the full keyboard in portrait mode. Now, if you are using one of the leaked OS's, you do. Ever since then I use mine one handed daily. I usually only use the fully keyboard when I am typing something really long.

IMHO - having used an 8830 for a couple of years, I find it challenging to use my Storm with one hand. For the most part, I can... but there are challenging "reaches" sometimes.

One of the most bothersome things is that if you are using your right hand, in landscape and you press the menu button, the menu pops up on the far left side of the screen. This is an OS thing that should be resolved, but thus far has not been addressed.

Sometimes I find my admittedly chubby palm/thumb area overlapping the bezel and touching the screen, negating the button I am "reaching" for with my thumb.

These are just my observations. I still like my Storm, but I am eyeing the 9630...

You took the words right out of my mouth...I had a pearl...a PEARL!!! And I loved it more than the storm when it comes to typing. I'm eyeing the "Niagra" too.
