Default Red flashing LED and boot problem: the cause?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all!

I read the thread with interest...

106139-please-help-my-bb-broke-down-while-upgrading-software-i-already-tried-jl_cmder.html

because my Pearl 8100 did it yesterday! However, I fixed it just by taking out the SD card and then leaving the battery out for a few minutes before putting the battery back in. Just removing the card didn't fix the problem.. I had to leave the battery out for maybe 5 minutes before the red flashing LED and inability to power up problem was resolved.

My question is, what causes this? Is my phone on the way out? Is there anything I can do to prevent this happening again?

Thanks loads in advance!

Alex

hmmm... any ideas anyone? seems awfully quiet on this thread!

Just today my 8100 has reset itself twice without warning. First time I had just finished a call. Second time I had just received a text message. Is this related in anyway to the boot failure problem? Any suggestions for a fix?

Thanks all!

Do you still have the media card in the device?

4.5 will cause issues with reboots with a media card. It's a known issue. There's no need to downgrade. This will resolve the issue.

Looks good. Think I'll use that guide as a last resort. If my Pearl resets itself again, I'll go through the steps! Hopefully I won't be in the middle of anything really important! Lol!

Cheers all,
Alex =)
