Default BeeJive.. Anoyone else find its full of bugs

Please Login to Remove!

Hey Everyone have a lot on my mind this morning and BeeJive is one of them...

I was wondering if anyone else on here was using the application and had any issues. I find this program is so full of bugs its annoying. here are some of the ones that drive me nuts.

Menu doesn't appear when you press BB button or pearl until you move the pearl
you rename a friend to a ledgable name and it forgets it next time you log in
you get disconnected from the network and not reconnected and find out 4 hours later
Rename all your contact to real names and then install a new OS and all the names are lost
The program wont auto start with the OS start you ahve to manually start it.
You cant block people then delete them cause it unblocks them and they can see you again
you cant remove contacts from your list

I mean for the amount of money they charge for their software this is a very immature application

This is a quote from their page for BB

"BeejiveIM is the most reliable and user-friendly mobile IM application on the market for BlackBerry handhelds, featuring desktop-like instant messaging and always-on efficient networking."

um it is the worst IM application I have ever used and the only reason I use it is the ability to rename contacts unlike MSN from RIM. The interface is much cleaner as well.

I just want to know your opinion on this application do you like it and have no issues, or do you have as many problems as me.

I've had the program since I've had a BlackBerry (~2 years) and it's been perfectly fine for me.
The only issue I had was an alt+alt emoticons bug but that was minor.

I transfered it to my Bold and so far it's wonderful. No problems for me.

1, 2, 3... I haven't had a problem with any of these. The others, I haven't experienced either. You can definitely remove contacts from your list. "Remove Buddy"

No problems here. I've tried most if not all IM clients out and I find that BeeJive is by far the most stable.

Mine is stable too. I do have that issue where the menu doesn't appear until you move the track ball, but it is minor for me.

I've seen some of your issues, but I've also seen others.

The one that has basically gotten me to stop using the product (and yes I did pay for it) is that I find that it looses network connectivity, people send messages, and I never see them. I know that SMTP isn't guaranteed delivery, but once the email hits the Exch-BES-RIM-Device model it is guaranteed. How hard would it be for them to add a heart beat to the HTTP session they hold open? To cache messages until the device ACKs the receipt.

It's a cool little app and it mostly works, but it doesn't feel like it ready for prime time. Mind you this should be a minor transport layer improvement so it could happen at anytime. Fingers crossed.

Hm, actually I've had that happen before. It will do a little hiccup, but a little bit later (maybe 10 seconds to a minute) the buddy will eventually be removed. It never took much longer than that so I never worried about it.

if you have never tried it then what would be the point? I want to know if people who have used it have problems like I do.

Yeah if I load my desktop client and remove it its gone and never shows up in BeeJive after.. too much work though for something with a big price tag like this... its 39 abut for that I expect all the bugs to be worked out not major stuff like this.. I get responses back from their support team. We are working on the problem and it will be fixed in the next update. then you never know when updates happen cause they are done on their servers that BeeJive connect to

I've actually fired up the desktop client, removed someone, fired up on the BB, restarted IM on desktop and had people come back... :(

I love the program and most of the problems I had have been fixed. All my friends that bought BB I recommend BeeJive and they also love it. Do you update your BeeJive when a new version come out? Version 1.1.1 is the latest version that isn't beta. I have the beta version (1.1.2) and it lets me see and communicate with my Facebook friends when they are online.

The only I see that me and my friends have is when the BeeJive server goes down. All of us lose connectivity for maybe a few minutes to a couple of hours.
