yes, use jl cmder, I did it last night, it took a while! I was thinking I did something wrong, but it worked fine.

run jl cmder
wipe it
then follow the OPs procedures, deleting the file, then running updater...

I'm assuming that the base BB code is the same, but the updated UMA and Fav5 code is in the T-Mobile version, hence why I am trying to load it.

Thanks for any help!

I'm trying to download the T-mo firmware, but the direct link doesn't work and when I try downloading it directly from their website, you need a t-mo number

Does someone as a working direct link to the file or a generic t-mo number that we could use to bypass the website verification

Thanks

so, i suppose this may be a stupid question (so, hold your snide comments) - but ..

now that t-mobile has released 4.5.0.174 with their seal of approval, is there really any difference between this release ("english & east asian") and the one that t-mobile put out on friday?

are they packaged any differently? or, is the only difference between the two is that t-mobile finally recognized they were the only US carrier to not have 4.5 out?

at face value, it doesn't look like something that i need to lose an hour to tonight.. but, just wanted to check.

thanks!

They mention improvements in UMA and fave5 . . . but I think they send fave5 OTA, and I don't know that UMA is only in the T-Mobile BB code . . . or in all BB carrier code . . . I haven't noticed any differences :( . . . though the tmobile load IS bigger (download size) than the one that was posted here earlier . . .

Any problems with decreased ring volume in the new OS upgrade? I know some people experienced that problem going from OS 4.2.XX to OS 4.5.XX

in what way is it better, I might try the O2 release of the 124 as well then ... even though I am not having any issues with the CSL release but will try it.

Wirelessly posted

Hmm can confirm that the O2 version is also better for the 8110 been using it for 24 hours the responsive and less leak wonder why it seems it was released earlier than the CSL one in the case of 8110

Thumbs up

OK, I have been using the O2 version for a week now. Not a single reset, missed or unknown call, no memory leak, no more WIFI signal loss, the battery last longer despite the newly installed applications (radio, maps, etc)

Very pleased, I was about to bin the Pearl and move to Curve or Bold. Glad I haven't as I really love the size and the shape of this model. Hope that RIM will release a new generation of Pearl.

Wink

Just upgraded from 4.5.0.52 latest on Orange to 4.5.0.124 , it took approx 40mins , the last stage where you wait 20-25mins just for the 8120 to boot-up to restore user setting and applications is very hairy

Everything seems ok, no lockups yet, camera and video work fine.

So where can i find a change log to see what is new.

thanks for the info.

EDIT : had a problem switching back to camera, got an error that another application was blocking it, I had to do a reset to clear it, but what caused it?
