Default Vibrate profile but want PIN to alert

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I'm using the vibrate profile on my BB Curve. However, I want the device to vibrate when I receive a PIN message. How do I do it?

Just edit your Vibrate profile: Profiles, Advanced, Vibrate. Change the settings so that Level 1 Messages vibrate.

If you meant BBM messages and not PIN messages, then change the BBM Alert and BBM New Message settings to vibrate.

Well, you can make PIN messages level 1 from the Messages application. From Messages, click the menu key, Options, General Options, scroll down to Actions and set Make PIN Messages Level 1 to Yes. I'd forgotten to mention that earlier as I think that is the default setting anyways.

In addition to BBM. You can send PIN messages in the form of email to other blackberry users. For example - go into your messages, press the menu key and select Compose PIN. From there enter the PIN number and message.

Actually, PIN messages are direct messages from one BB to another. They are like emails.

BB Messenger is an RIM IM client that uses the PINs to identify the sender/receiver but the messages themselves are not PIN messages.

To see the difference, from the Messages application, hit the menu key and select Compose PIN. In the To: field, type your own PIN number, type out a short message and then Menu, Send. You will see your sent message and then your 'new' message will come in. You will see this in your Messages application, not in BB Messenger.

Not to mention that (consider the context of this thread) if you set an alert for BBM Messages the alert for your PIN messages will not be affected and vice versa.
