I have noticed that since installing BBWeather, my battery life has tanked! dont know if the wireless application drains the battery - I have my phone set to wi fi preferred - browser set to Hotspot browser - maybe staying wireless most of the day might be a drain in the battery???

Any thoughts??

Like I said many times if your battery life is noticeably worse after you install an app then that new app is searching for something and using the radio (network or WiFi, doesn't matter-it all comes off the battery). Figure out how to use that app and shut it totally off. Don't start messing with the OS in a case like this. I think what happens is we get a new phone and install a bunch of new apps and go nuts with it and the battery drains from the app useage and because it's brand new (batteries get a little better after a few charges). Then things calm down and we figure out how to shut stuff off or we shut it off by installing another OS and all's well .

Normally, I wold agree with a RIM tech. But in this case and after first hand experience, this is not true. I know for a FACT that before .168 I would not last the day (0500 to 1900). Now I last all day and I still have at least 25% battery left.

So, IMO, the OS makes a difference. I have not added/removed any apps.

I have experienced anything less than stellar battery performance. I can go 3 days or more, with what I consider normal usage, some calls, web surfing, GPS aand wifi surfing. After 1 day of usage after a full charge, I'm typically at 85% 6:00am-11:00pm.
