I just bought my new storm from wirefly.com biggest mistake ever...anyways I recieved the phone but now I can't program it when I try to do the *228 it just says that they can't program my phone...and there is a banner at the top of the home screen that says ACTIVATION REQUIRED, I found the link to get rid of that and I did but I still can't program the phone by *228 was I not suppose to do that? lol ..I called wirefly and they told me to wait 24 hours...is there a way I can do this on my own? Im sure there is but would need help....let me know if you guys know how or anything about this issue.....THANKS SO MUCH!

Go to a VZW store and activate your account with them - unless you plan on unlocking the Storm to run with another carrier.

If you were planning on going with Verizon, the "activation required" banner would have disappeared once you activated the account. You only need to use the hack if you are unlocking the phone to run on another carrier.

I very much dislike wirefly. I received my 8100 from them and had an awful experience.
