Default Cannot get LOUD ringing....

Please Login to Remove!

I know how to go in and adjust the volume of my ringtones a couple of different ways....mostly profile/normal/ring tone/high

But, I recently bought a new box that came with Vista (ugh) and installed the latest version of the Blackberry Desktop manager....connected to my phone and it actually took all day to update to version v4.5.0.110

Now, not matter if I have it on the loud profile or regular the ring is sort of low and definitely I cannot hear it in the car with some radio background noise.

Was this a hardware issue? Any workarounds?

I am guessing by latest version of DM... you mean DM 4.7. It is OK to use this version as long as you do not want to try out beta versions of the OS. Get the latest version of OS at General 8300 Series Discussion - Curve - BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community and try installing it on your device.

If your using the default blackberry ringers that come on the phone then chances are thats your problem. You can turn the volume all the way up if you'd like but the ringtones are still too quiet. Your best bet is to go to a third party website and download some new tones from it as they usually play louder, at least in my experience

Profiles
Advanced
Choose the profile you want to EDIT and click the button to the left of the trackball, choose Edit.
Go down to Phone or whichever ringer you want to edit and set volume level in there.

Hopefully that helps you out.

Myxer - Download Ringtones and More allows you to amp up the volume as you're creating your ringtones. give that a shot

If you updated from 4.2 to 4.5 OS, then it is the software that reduced the volume of the ringing. The only thing to do to get the loud ringing again is to revert back to 4.2. I have 3 BB and updated them to 4.5 the volume was reduced. I took the one I use for work and installed 4.2 so I could hear the ringing in the loud enviroments i work in.

x2 -- seems pretty straigthforward. You might be able to squeeze some extra volume by editing the file on the PC.
