screen is viewable, but dim. what needs fixing?

i dunked my blackberry curve into water and after drying it with rice as instructed in another thread, it is working fine, with the exception of the screen. it is viewable and basically works, but is very dim to a point that it is practically useless.
do i need to replace the screen, lcd or what? would love any tips you might have.
