Wow... Even in the game of extending your contract, this is really great pricing...

Could not find a way to extend my contract on Amazon? Seems like its only for new contracts. Any ideas on how to do this?

Shows at $99.99 after rebate for me. Still not bad. LetsTalk has it at $0, but you HAVE to sign up for a $99/month plan there.
EDIT: I jumped on the Amazon deal. $100 less than directly from T-Mobile, but there is a stipulation that you cannot cancel within 6 months or you get hit with a $250 charge.
Soon as this puppy is in I am putting my Storm on eBay and ditching Verizon.

badandy: Amazon usually does not do contract renewals (upgrades).
Also, let's not forget about the current trade-in program for T-Mo. Apparently at least $50 for a working phone, any phone, and I think I read somewhere a working Pearl gets $75, which would make this deal $25 on a new contract. Not bad at all.

Amazon had a similar deal for new Tmob subscribers for the Pearl: it was free. I did it for me and my wife, great deal. Just don't disconnect the new 8900 phone from your new line for at least 6 months or they hit your CC $250. That's to keep you from selling it.

There is no way I'm paying $429 (minus $70 rebate) for the 8900, such a bummer. I called tmo and they said I'm only eligible for a partial upgrade and I have to wait five more months to get the full discount.
Did any of you guys experience this? What did you guys do?
Last time I upgraded was in September of 2007 when the 8320 came out.

Hmmm, sounds interesting. What I may do is start a new line (my current line is in my wife's name as my first BB was a gift) and get the 8900. Then I can just remove all the services on my current line and get the price down real low and just wait until the contract ends.

I just went through the same thing. I called again and they sent me to customer retention. The rep told me I was able to get the partial up grade which was 70 bucks off the phone. But seeing how I have been with tmob for 3 years she let me have the phone at 179 and split the payments over 4 months.

This is the link for the current promotion:

Enter promo code: flip2blackberry
Doesn't have to be T-Mobile branded, I think any GSM phone would do, just has to be in working condition.
