Default No IP Address Wi-FI Hotel Network

Please Login to Remove!

Sitting in my hotel, wireless wi-fi works fine on laptop wireless card. BB Bold can find the network but will not connect. Reason is No IP Address. I have used my BB to connect to both my home and work wireless networks. Under WI-FI diagnostics is states that the DHCP server is not reachable. Any idea what would cause this since my laptop is working

I read another post where someone turned off their Bluetooth connection. When I did this my hotel wi-fi connection went on but I am still having troubles getting it to go active. I can't get a green check mark under connection settings. On my home screen I now show both my carrier and the hotel's network but I can't seem to use the hotel network.

Most hotel networks require authentication. Either they have a login page or a license agreement page that must be accepted before you can access the internet. Try opening your browser and go to google, it will either fail or it will redirect you to the necessary authentication page. Another option, though is strictly dependant on the Gateway located at the hotel, would be to navigate to 1.1.1.1/login to access the auth page. If it does not work then chances are you'll have to call tech support and have them put your device on pass-through.

Heh. I worked tech support for a company that installed networks in hotels then supported them.

When y'all are referring to tech support, are you referring to the carrier network, or Bberry network?

Thanks. This has been an issue at every "hot spot" for me. I wanna use my slingbox

Neither, but rather the company that supports the hotel's Wi-Fi network.
