Default OS Leak on 8830 4.5.0.101?

Please Login to Remove!

I have os 4.5.0.101 on my 8830. I am loving it esepically since the GPS was finally unlocked! However, within a week i got from about 14mb of file free to about 2. I keep all my programs closed as well.

Things I have installed:
AIM
Gtalk
Facebook
Gmaps
Gapps
Gmail

Anyone else having this issue?

Did you try to periodically pull your battery?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Sounds what you are experiencing is normal. That build is supposed to be the most stable for that OS and device

I don't get it! These last few months, I haven't been able to go three days without a pull. Sometimes I have to do two in one day cuz I'm out of memory!

Sounds like a memory leak. Do you keep a lot of email and TMs on the device? Have music and photos, etc on the device itself?

I think that Facebook is a memory leaker. Are you closing it after you use it?

Do any of you know if there is QUICKPULL for this OS? Its a cool little app. Instead of having the take the back cover off, and pulling the battery out (aka Battery Pull), it saves you pulling the battery out from the handset.
It worked for me when I was still on 4.2, but once I up graded to 4.5.0.101 it does not work.

regardless, there are still memory issues with .101 If not, then why hasn't it been released? Why is there now supposedly a .131 if .101 is so good?

It's shown in the "Beta you Than Me" forum on this site.

When I had 4.2 loaded on my 8830, I would only need to do a battery pull very rarely. I also had many more applications loaded than I do now.

Now, with .101 I have unloaded several applications but end up needing to reboot or battery pull daily.

Hmm. I use the FB application on my 8830 w/ .101 and rarely have to do a battery pull (or equivalent, I use "Quickpull" software to do mine). I don't use a lot of 3rd party applications on mine, but FB is used often.
