Default Setting up Sprint e-mail with filters

Please Login to Remove!

I need insight setting up my sprint e-mail accounts. I have set my e-mails up several time and deleted them for the reason that when I add a filter to the account I stop receiving all of my e-mails. I have a company web site that I receive about 30 spam mails a day but need to keep in contact with my clients. The spam is annoying and I am trying to get ride of the spam mail but still need to get my real e-mails in to the phone.

I have spent about 3 hours working with customer service and I have gone to the sprint store and I am still not receiving my e-mails when I have a filter.

I have the firewall activated.

Just to confirm, are you using BIS or BES to get your email?

Have you tried disabling the firewall for the time being?

If you go into Options -> Security Option -> Firewall it will say how many messages it has blocked.

It's good to work with one function at a time for troubleshooting purposes turn off the firewall so this will narrow down the cause to the filters.

For spam filtering you really need to filter your email before it hits BIS. Manually filtering spam using the email filters is an exercise in futility.

How exactly are you setting up the filter? Give us details you've set it up.

I am going to the sprint.blackberry.com and logging in, then go to the account and put in a filter"medication" for new mail. then all e-mails stop arriving.

Hi Jsker, I’m Erin, a Sprint-Nextel techsupport rep. Instead of setting up the filter on the Blackberry site, try setting up filtering on the email accounts that are integrated with the Blackberry Internet Service account.
