Just received one and really like it. One nice thing that I didn't realize was when hooked to your USB port, it appears to rapid charge instead of the usual trickle USB charge. Also good for using VZ Navigator if you have a horizontal surface on your dash... keeps it at a great angle.

Yes...it can be used with the wall charger. Makes a good bedside clock.

Does the dock use the micro-USB plug or can you use a mini-usb plug in as well? Also, is it possible to charge the phone in the dock with one of the Verizon silicon cases on?

It uses the micro USB. No you cannot use it with the Verizon silicon case as it is a tight fit. In fact with my Zagg micro shield on my storm it barley fits in the cradle. But all in all I really like the cradle, in fact I have two of them. One on my desk that I use with a the USB cradle that came with the storm. And one at home that I use with the AC adapter.
