Did you search for your answers? Should be out there somewhere.

djvip510 - here's a great place to start (as opposed to being told "search")

BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ is a great resource for information about BlackBerrys.

How do I unlock my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ specifically addresses unlocking BBs.

That should be enough to get you going. The instructions are generic for the BB and are not specific for the Storm.

1. Ensure the SIM Card that came pre-installed in the 9530 is inserted
2. Go to 'Manage Connections'
3. Click on 'Turn All Connections Off'
4. Go to 'Options'
5. Click on 'Status'
6. Go back to 'Options'
7. Click on 'Advanced Options'
8. Click on 'SIM Card'
9. Type 'MEPD' (letters will not appear on-screen but a menu will pop up)
10. Type 'MEP2' (user will be prompted to enter MEP code)
11. Enter the unlock code
12. Reboot device
13. Go to 'Manage Connections'
14. Click on 'Restore Connections'

Dont know... The unlock code is specific to your unit and I believe the unlock code needs to match the Sim.
Cant hurt to try it. The above instructions are what Verizon sent me to unlock mine.

Unlock code matches the IMEI and PIN and has nothing to do with the SIM card. You can unlock a BB without the SIM card in it.

Did it work for you with the SIM card in it? Did you ever try it without the SIM card, if so...I'm assuming it failed like it did for me...

Did not try it without the card. Worked fine with the card in there on the first try.

If you bought the unlock code then the people you bought it off should have assisted you in unlocking the device.

with the Storm you need to ensure you have the keyboard showing while entering in all the codes.

Otherwise call your support (who you should have bought the unlock code from) and get them to help you.

I'd like to put this in the FAQ under the 9500 section if that's okay with you. Also, I'll be sure to credit you for sharing it.
