well if GPS is working then i suppose on CDMA also it shud work fine and we have also installed and tested GOOGLE MAPS , it worked OK

Currently RIM has not announced any major OS for the 8830 World Edition Blackberry. The last OS update for the 8830 was on 05/14/08 and that updated the OS to 4.2.2 Release 364 (Platform 3.0.0.84 / Application 4.2.2.196)
Normally when a new update is out we test it on our devices first which takes months and then we release it but RIM has not even given us that. There is no ETA for the update and there is no guarantee that RIM will update the device.
